The Problem

Artificial Intelligence (A.I) security app

Background and Key Challenges

Protech was the first digital project I created in college during our third year when we were tasked with creating a dynamic logo around any concept. The business idea or the potential customer behind it didn't matter as much as the design of the logo.

I wondered to myself, had I applied design thinking and a proper business strategy to my first digital project, how could I better reposition this project as a viable business idea that aligned with customers' needs? Protech 2.0 is a result of the aforementioned thought experiment!

Understanding the product at hand

Project background

Below is an example of the "first Protech" project I completed for college during my third year. The concept was loosely based on a cyber security app with a dynamic logo design.

User empathy map

I first jotted down the type of personas Protech needed to target, after which I settled on millennial parents since cybersecurity apps are expensive and millennials have a high disposable income. The user empathy map helped me understand what millennial parents value the most in their lives and how Protech can best serve those needs and wants.

Value proposition map

I listed the potential features or products that my app might offer and then proceeded to jot down how the aforementioned features might relieve certain pains points or create positive gains. I referenced my empathy map to understand the connection between my product's features and what customers needed, after which I prioritised/ranked my findings.

Business Model Canvas

The user empathy map and value proposition map are important in understanding your "Key propositions, customer segments, and marketing channels". My business model is aimed at serving millennial parents and their kids online in a manner that is non-invasive and easy to utilise without the need of a parent monitoring their child 24/7.

The Results (Outcomes)

Protech (A.i system)

The outcome was an Artificial Intelligence (A.I) app that protects your child from dangerous bots and explicit content on the web that isn't meant for their eyes.

This means your child can utilize the web for education, gaming and even socializing without the danger incurred by simply surfing the web. It's a non-invasive app that is designed in a child-friendly manner to avoid any negative connotations associated with blocky and tech-heavy cybersecurity apps. â€‹
